what's up with the lack of writing?
I understand that this project wasnt done with "that many" creators (which is kinda bs considering you have games with extensive lore that are made with fewer people). And then some people might not be invested in hearing large chunks of dialogue). But getting a small text of "verso tells them stories" or " verso remains mysterious" seems very vague and very lazy. I understand voice acting might be an issue aswell but then just write the text of the stories they share and let the players read if they want. There's already not that much talking in the game it seems kinda ridiculous to have these "bonding scenes" be replaced with one liners.

I think those are just concessions to pacing so optional camp scenes don't take ten minutes apiece. The rest of the game has a ton of writing.

It's called suggesting not telling.
Sure it's frustrating not to have all thoses extra information, but it help build the mystery of the lore and the world.
And frankly I'd rather have the cute "Verso and X spend sometime together" "Verso and X become more than friend" than the steamy sex scene from BG3 that are somewhat weird and feel unnecessary.
There is already plenty of dialogues between them, there is no need for a hundred page minutes of all they exchanged during the night.

Spoiler warning for those not finished the game.

But the reason is simple.
I mean the painters are at war with the writers.

And writers are at war with the gild of musicians and musicians with programmers because AI robbed their job. It's just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, twisted and bad acted plot for depressed gamers don't take it too seriously

I feel like this is more graceful than spending weeks animating an awkward sex scene with sciel and lune, there's this bit where sciel winks at verso and lune as they come back from a stroll, and the narration implies she knows what's up and approves, it's how I feel about it myself, it's a really adult way to handle it, more akin to how it's handled in books than how it's handled in movies or video games usually. Like, we get enough of that.

Also, like, you're interpreting this like the team has infinite resources. Writing/animating sex scenes means not writing/not animating something else. This is true for games with 3000 names in the credits, imagine for a small studio.

It's a very elegant solution to sum up the group socializing and having normal interactions, without having to write and animate a dozen different scenes for each camp evening.
Sometimes, less is more.

At least that's what my girlfriend tells me

Personally, I am grateful I wasn't subject to extensive dialogues while characters bond (or have quality time ;), it would have been too much exposition for me, in this kind of game. It is true that one could always skip them, but would one? I know I wouldn't, because afraid of missing out, and then would be double-bored.
It reminded me of the social link text from the Persona games that appear during and after the relationship advancement scenes.

Since the relationship level elements of this game seem heavily inspired by the Persona social links, these text narrations of off-screen interactions felt in keeping with the inspiration, although Clair Obscur does choose not to show a lot of interactions that would be interesting to see

here's a little example (see the texts narrating things that happen off screen):
(edit: skip to ~25:00 min, there are a few there)
