An embarassing launch
I've been unable to play the game since it's launch week due to persistent fatal errors in the game. I have zero mods and started experiencing fatal errors once I entered Act II. I have never purchased a title this poorly optimized, you should be ashamed of the state of this game. I would refund if I could.

Are you loading in a game and it stays on the load screen for a bit then CTDs?
Anyways! Do you know when your sign is cheap?

Sounds like some hardware issues to me.
I can't play more than 10 mins without an UE5 Fatal Error

I think the same.
Or shader cache need resetting. Or Nvidia newest drivers need to be reverted to older ones from before 50 series.

Have you considered that the issues might be on your side ? There's like 45 layers between the game and your experience of it, and every single one could be a problem as well.

It's your responsibility to make sure the dev can do their job on your end. Your post is embarassing in the face of like, 3 million sales and 95% review score, the world doesn't spin around you.

Considering that your first instinct is to point the finger when there's an issue, am pretty sure you have quite a bit of those on your end, from experience working in IT. :P

I understand your frustration, but I just wanted to share a different experience. I completed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 without a single crash or fatal error, and I'm now playing through New Game+ to finish the achievements I missed (currently at 107.5 hours of playtime). What's more, I'm doing all of this on a 10-year-old setup — an i5-2500K, GTX 1660 Super, and 16GB of RAM running Windows 10.

Before placing all the blame on the game itself, it might be worth checking for conflicting background applications, outdated drivers, or corrupted local files. I’ve seen players fix similar issues with a clean reinstall or a GPU driver rollback. Of course, the game could still use patches and improvements, but not everyone is encountering the same problems — which suggests it’s not just the game at fault.

Your machine probably needs maintenance

I have a 5090 and a 9800X3D. A clean install of windows did not resolve it. My machine works fine.

doubt

Okay Mr. IT, is that why there's hundreds of forum posts discussing fatal errors? Is that why half of the negative reviews mention constant crashing? I know very well how to troubleshoot. You're like one of those arrogant doctors who's been on the job so they start to dismiss every patient as overreacting, convinced you've seen it all and there's nothing new to learn. Well Jackass, it's entirely possible that your cherished devs have messed up and you're carrying water for them for no reason.

bet one of your ram sticks are dying. I was having issues with fatal errors a few years ago with AAA games primarily unoptimized games. Turns out one of my ram sticks was dying but very slowly until it started to blue screen the entire system. Bought a full set of brand new B-die ram that 1:1 my ryzen cpu. No issues since.

also if you have a 5090 and a 9800x3d which comes out to almost 3k and cant trouble shoot simple tech issues to rule out problems, youre just an idiot with more money than brains. Highly doubt you actually have that combo.

memtest86 shows nothing. you are a fool once again assuming my knowledge of troubleshooting. now buzz off fanboy.

I think I need to get off these forums. I can't with these people.

Feel for you, I would be big mad too if I was running into those issues! I have the same setup. 5090 Astral with a 9800x3d. I have 70 hours in the game and I did experience 5 or 6 crashes, usually during long battles, and specifically in the frozen hearts zone. Hope you figure it out, so you can experience how amazing this game is. Edit: checked my driver and I have been running 576.28.
