Because
"Attacks at the speed of light"
When you get tired of him he can be one shot with Maelle
When i fought against him it was a hard fight but fair, then i got his health bar to 40-30% and he just deleted my team. Had enough and one shot him with Maelle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhjv4UZZStY Gustave can solo him so you can do it too.

Once you learned how to survive a bit, the real boring thing is the phase 3, when he removes your first team. but there are alot of way to do him without one-shotting him with Maelle.

As I said more times, there is nothing wrong in one shotting with Maelle but that's not the only way, that's all.
I'm right now re-trying over and over against this absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This guy is total BS, he has every trick in the game, set your HP to 1, "steal" shells even when you don't have any and create 1 out of thin air, delete dead characters and doing like 5 different things each turn, which is very often as he has infinite agility it seems... and just now I got for the first time to the point where he does some red attack that kills the entire party which seems unavoidable... Just when I thought I was figuring his patterns out and now he does every attack x3. I barely do 2M with Stendhal and Elemental Genesis (10m on the first turn) so maybe I shouldn't be trying to kill him, and I never paid any attention to the "other" characters so I don't even know how to play them... aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh I hate this Simon, and I think the whole thing is unfinished, what's with the flat black floor, and the very ugly fall down before the fight where you have like 10 seconds to appreciate how they didn't do a proper "falling down" animation for the characters, and the clothes and hair look completely unnatural while you "fall" through random effects textures against a flat background...
i did it. Without a oneshot build. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ what was that fight

Yeah, it is the only boss fight that seems to be severely overtuned.

I didn't have a one-shot build to deal with him but, after a few tries I managed to beat him with a mix of Second Chance, Breaking Death and Sniper to reduce his turns whenever I failed to dodge his attacks (which was most of the time, my reaction time is slow and he was too fast, especially with that annoying double hit), and Sciel's Fortune's Fury and Intervention to give extra turns to my heavy hitters (Verso and Maelle) to the point of avoiding his party wipe attack and kill him.
Of course, other pictos like Cheater and not having shields helped. It was a bit of RNG. I should've waited a bit and fought him later because I went after him before clearing the Infinite Tower and the Flying Manor, many good pictos there.
Verso’s End Bringer at rank A will delay stun recovery. If you hit him with that at least once after he breaks, he will recover the turn after next, instead of this one. Keep using it. If you don’t have verso at rank A, use leadership. If you don’t have verso turn, use sciel intervention

For me it was the last thing in the game to do, I was at level 95 and I wish I had done it sooner(I play on normal). I went in blind and got it on a second try, without much trouble. First try I had shield pictos equipped for my party and It was just too slow to remove like 9 shields every turn. I did not need to parry or dodge, I did try but failed :)

It took me about maybe 8-10 turns per character to beat it. Luna was buffing and healing, sciel did damage and gave turns when needed to Luna/Maelle and Maelle was just building fire, I think I had over 2000 stacks of burn in the end, highest I've seen :)

I tried to one-shot him, failed, and had to beat him legit, but I did at least wipe the last 30% or so of his health with a Gommage and therefore avoided his most annoying stuff.
Could finally beat him (expeditioner difficulty), took me around 80 turns I think, counting his and mine. Had to change the party so the "secondary" party wasn't so weak, and properly equip all characters. I was for the first time parrying the Light speed attack and the Lumiere attack, which were the hard ones in my opinion

I guess that's it for this game, it was pretty fun.

bruh, I changed difficulty for him from expert to STORY and he still kicks my ass. Had no real problems with the rest of the game...
