can I get this ability even after finishing the game?
I want to do some of the side content after I just finished the main story and I didn't unlock the diving underwater ability, can I still unlock it and explore the world? I heard you get it from camp interactions with esquie but can I still get those to raise relationship level to 6?

If you load the last autosave after the credits its put you back at the place where you fought the final boss but he is gone. So you can not fight him again.
But you can leave and do everything else in the world you missed, including the relationship levels.
NG+ you keep your weapons, skills, lumia, pictos, costumes and so on, you dont keep collectibles like journals or records, you have to collect those again.
NG+ starts you from the beginning again. Also enemies will be a lot tougher in NG+ and drop higher level upgrade materials and loot.

You can camp anytime after finishing the story to progress relationships.

can i progress the relationships after finishing the game but not using new game plus? can i reload the last save (which is before the final boss fight) and go progress relationships and explore?
