I need help for Simon
how do I learn P2? I feel like I make zero progress after like 2 hours of him completely and utterly obliterating me. P1 is a joke, all other content in the game is a joke compared to whatever this is supposed to be. I can't figure out where to look / focus on during some of his moves (especially the light speed one), I refuse to commit to a 1-shot build, removing mechanics from a fight isn't satisfying, I might as well download someone else's save at that point...

Idk, being sent back to P1 whenever he hits me once just feels awful. I even tried lowering the difficulty, not sure if it even does anything for Simon, still dying just as easily....

Update: I got him. I caved and created a barely working 1-shot build involving Roulette since my damage peaked at 30 mil, which was roughly ~70% of his hp in p2.

I feel dirty cheating it, but just like Verso I just got tired ._.

Simon is supposed to be the Uber Boss. Hence why phase 2 is so difficult.

You either need to get perfect parries and study the fight, or go back to farming lumina and get more pictos, convert to lumina, and stack your characters. I recommend the cromatic dancer in old lumiere, as only have to dodge a few times, you don't want to parry. Obviously use cheater and first strike, and basically take some single target nukers. Kill the dancers clones over and over, and if there are no dancers, skip turn. She will respawn the dancers. Each one counts as a "character kill", and using this method you can get hundreds or thousands of lumina from a single fight. I myself got about 500 before I just kind of went, meh, this is enough. Once you have enough lumina, build up two of your characters to a pretty strong version, atleast able to do 1-5 mil a turn if you want to experience it as intended, with strong survive. Probably overstack lume with defensives and turn her into a rezzer/healer, as if you die, Simon can vanquish characters.

As for doing a full parry fight, its not difficult per-se, its just fast. It really tests your reflexes. If you want to guage parry timings for yourself, you can watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZlXNFznSuk

I recommend Second Chance and Survivor pictos to remain in the fight longer, as they allow two hits to be taken which is quite helpful when trying to learn his moves.

Other than that it's just persistence. Personally spent 2 hours learning to parry his moves. The tremendous satisfaction after beating him properly was worth it in the end. Can't wait to fight him again now in my 2nd fresh playthrough.

Spam lumina. Equip everything beside the damage ones or adjust it according to what you think is fine.
Other than Git Gud that's just how it is. Simon is built around you having equipped a good chunk of pictos in the game lol.
Also Simon is probably the only boss I would consider seriously just put it on Story mode you need the dodge/parry windows.
Even the videos I seen doing Simon legit has the parry window cranked up. Dude is parrying 10 years ago and still hitting it.

Yeah I feel like I messed up by spreading the Lumina out evenly rather than creating a monster. Now I'm stuck at ~280 per character and I don't think I want to spend entire days farming 1-2 Lumina per kill to double that

Don't kill Chromatic Danseuse until you are ready, just her clones. You will never need lumina points again. If you're opposed to this, well, basically, youre gonna need a nuker to farm in Renoir's Drafts anyway, so..

Simon requires a lot of optimization in your party build and specifically I feel you need several sources to do major damage. I had to respec all of my characters to maximize strength, get several pictos I had neglected to learn for lumina use and grind Colour of Lumina like crazy in Renior's Drafts. Simon is probably the only fight in the game where cheesing is a legitimate strategy.

Dodging/Parrying all of his attacks takes some time to learn. The longer the fight drags out the more fatigued you feel having to dodge/parry more and more. Really, you have to do as much as possible to mitigate how long the Simon fight is. I strongly recommend looking at your party and optimizing your builds for big damage and break damage.
could 1 shot him if u wanna just win lol

anytime u feel like it sciel > double dmg > ded

i did it with verso first (mark), sciel (double damage), maelle (stendhal->last chance->stedhal again). with all luminas to increase damage (augmented first strike, inverted, immaculate,... ) and roulette (might take some tries due to randomness). i killed him before he could even attack in 2nd phase, even after the stendhal nerf. (apparently, it also works with a maelle solo build, but ithat never worked for me).

I needed monoco to proc defenceless on him first before using the sciel/maelle nuke. Before then it'd only do about 40 mil damage and he'd delete them so I couldn't do a follow up

Literally just reached Simon. Beat his first phase in around 3-4 turns. Died twice to phase 2 and said nah I'm good. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Its worth doing, either legit or with a nuker. He has a required journal for an achievement, and drops one of the best weapons for Verso.

He also has a phase 3 but 99 percent of people don't know that since he gets one shotted to death

Yeah I only learnt that cause my procs only did 80% damage and then he erased sciel and maelle :er_wave:

A lot of the move set stays the same in P2, you just have to double tap every input to account for the afterimage. Don't even try to parry the afterimage, focus on the actual strike and press twice

As for the light combo where he starts flying, just hit parry one second before you think you should and you'll probably hit it, the first hit starts way sooner than most moves in the game

You can semi-reliably dodge/parry everything, the main issue is dealing with third phase if you can't skip it.

Best case scenario you have one character that can solo p1+p2, one character that can solo p3, and you split them. But if you don't you're kinda stuck

Lowering the difficulty to the Story mode will increase your parry and dodge window.

If you find hard to parry Simon p2, just dodge him, I did him without any parry, but by dodging his attacks
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhjv4UZZStY last video where I did him

if you don't cheese p3 remember to have someone else builded for damage or you won't end him after he wipes your first party
