(Sciel) Not enough damage post-game
I finished the game a few days ago but almost everywhere I go in side content that has a chromatic or a boss I bash my head into the wall and get nowhere. Mob packs aren't necessarily an issue but are you actually supposed to go Stendhal on Maelle or go home to do the rest of the side content? Where's the damage?

I pumped Sciel with 200~ Lumina and every damage Picto I've found and I still feel like I need even more multipliers like it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Balatro. I hit like maybe 1M max with a Twilight Dance if I'm lucky when most of my conditionals are active and I've got max foretell and it takes so many turns to set that up. I've even shaped the rest of the party around getting her more damage through Greater Powerful, Double Mark, Defenceless, and Shields (Shield Affinity) or to help her keep her AP at max. The only optimization I think I can make right at this moment is to take Chation over Tisseron when I can get it to level 30 too and also to use Fortune's Fury if I can fit that. Sciel already has 100% crit rate. Maybe I reduce it a bit to start stacking Might. I know I must be missing something but I can't tell what it is beyond that. My party are all level ~66-69. I've only killed the Chromatic Gilssando and a Gargant, just barely.

I had Sciel kitted out with the scythe that curses you, the inverted picto, and then a bunch that buff you if you have status ailments. She hit like an absolute train. All you need to do is make sure you're entering twilight as often as possible to reset curse timer, build fortell and use the move that hits 4-5 times or the flame transfer one. Every character is so useful!

There is an interesting Sciel scythe that's made for using a Free Shot build. Free Shot builds are very strong, maybe explore that?
I recall some chromatic bosses being resistant to dark skills. Check her weapons with other elements, pick her skills that do "use weapon's elemental damage".

Hey thanks, I'll see about trying that out. I did manage to pump damage enough to clear the Crimson Forest boss hitless so I'll keep fiddling around with my build. I imagine I haven't been taking enough advantage of Gradient Attacks since I can only take one turn at a time on Sciel so that's something else I'll explore.

As for Resistant enemies, I've been keeping track of that, but it hasn't been an issue. I run Sealed Fate and Spectral Sweep with Tisseron anyway.

I beat majority of the end game content without adding into any crazy damage multiplier.
Just basic ♥♥♥♥ like Roulette and few ones.
My highest damage if everything crits and got a good roll is 400-600k with both maelle and Verso. Maybe near a million if I do the Gommage skill.

My pictos and team composition was primarily geared towards surviving with Ap and dealing decent damage. Spamming shields with Monoco.
Also Maelle isn't even broken in expert mode IF you're playing normally. You have to make the conscious decision to keep stacking damage multiplier you see in the game. I was running Verso, Maelle and Monoco.

There's realistically should only be one boss that's gonna force you to make one shot build and he's a super boss.

I marked this correct specifically because my real problem was that I wasn't exploring enough. Not just for weapons I have yet to find but the actual way in which I was setting up my damage. I had a very janky combo and I've ironed it out now by adding Powerful Tint to someone and mixing in Gradients to make up for the single turns I was taking on Sciel, among some other things like Faster Than Strong for both supports and giving Sciel more AP potions. I've clearly got enough to start mowing down the bosses. I killed Sprong on my fourth try just now and if you've killed him you know what that unlocks.
