And instead if you needing to equip that pictos you just equip the skill itself which costs Lumina points. Say your character has 0/10 Lumina points, you can add passive skills to them they learned till it says 10/10 so all Lumina points are in use.
Thats why finding those items that give you an extra Lumina point one of the most useful items in the game.
You have hundreds of points by the end of the game and dozens of skills which basically are your "build" since many of them have synergy with each other.
But it can also be useful to keep the pictos equippend to get the passive skill for "free" since many powerful lategame passives are very expensive in points, up to 40 points needed for a single one.
