Is this enemy bugged? It's such a questionable design choice to give an enemy infinite turns. I can probably kill it but I have to perfect parry every single attack and it doesn't seem like a fun fight at all since it removes any and all mechanics from the game except parry to place a severe handicap on the player, that just seems like a lazy way to challenge us.

So I'm not motivated to waste the time perfecting this enemy's pattern, especially when there are no visual or audio cues for it's attacks like all other enemies in the game. It seemed like someone on the team asked "How many gimmicks do you want this enemy to have?" and the lead director forgot they were developing a turn-based game and just responded "yes". Is the strategy here literally just parrying his endless attacks until you chip away all his health with counterattacks?

No bugs, it's meant to be killed with parries. Check your pictos/luminas and see if you have anything that enhances your parries/counter damage.
It is not bugged. You agility/speed may be too low compared to his for the time being. You can try boosting with equipped pictos to see if it gives you a chance. But depending on where you are at most of the Chromatic one's are quite difficult and some may need to be returned to later.

How high would it's speed have to be to take 15 turns in a row and still be the only character in the turn roster all the way down? According to others it just has infinite speed so unless I want to spend hours mastering parries, this enemy is quite literally inaccessible for me. So I guess I'll just skip it, and keep on keeping on. Hopefully the game doesn't have a habit of removing every mechanic in the entire game except parries to make fights harder or I'm in real trouble.

all it needs is 1 parry that can break, it's breakbar is very flimsy and if you counter and break it once, you get normal turns which instagib it
just parry him until he breaks then finish him off, he doesn't have much health and three perfect parry in a row allows you to ♥♥♥♥ him up.

Yeah that's what I thought. How many other fights are like this? I can skip this guy I'm pretty sure but it scares me how many times I might have to fight with only parries.

This is the only fight where you never get a turn unless you parry, though grosse tete comes close.

Everything else just gives you normal turns, but lots of things will one shot you if you dont parry specific attacks

Just one other optional boss, AFAIK. As someone who messes up often with parrying, the rest of the story bosses from that point didn't give me much trouble.

Are you positive? I did get a perfect parry once and it dealt reasonable enough damage but I never got a turn afterwards, it just kept attacking.

His attack hits like 8 times. I'm not good enough to parry all of them successfully to get a counterattack though. lol I'm a more traditional turn-based player and I'm just not conditioned for something like this. It's why I wish the devs were a bit more honest in advertising the game as a souls-like turned based RPG. I don't have to fight this thing right? I'll find out next time I play anyways I suppose.

he has an attack that only hits once, parry that, dodge the rest

I'm not sure off hand. But it certainly wasn't 15 turns in between for me when I did it. But I am also good at parrying. So I'm not sure. There is different ways to exploit things later on also.

You mean the gradient attack it uses? That one shots my characters if I miss the gradient parry, so once I do the fight is over and I just have to wait until it kills me to try again. Can't open the menu to reload a save or anything if you never get a turn. That's the worst part about this fight. I'll give it another try tomorrow after I cooled off and focus on just parrying that attack.

yup thats the attack i mean, its the easiest window you have on him and it one-breaks his bar, so you rlly only needa get 1 parry right and tank\dodge the rest, ezpz

Might just install the easy parry/dodge mod to beat him and then uninstall it worst case scenario actually. Thanks

If you have pictos that boost breaking. It may help. Now that I'm thinking of it I may have broken him and got a turn that way. The Breaking Counter one that has " 50% increased Break damage on Counterattack."
