Deserved.

I mean...that's what happens when you rush as fast as possible. User error and the consequences of it.

Yup. If you're going to rush AND care about the 100%, at least check a guide for missables beforehand.

Not necessarily, some people like to go in blind, and only focus on achievements at the very end.
The mime isn't a big issue given that it's a single fight you can do in NG+, but the journals are all erased.

For OP, there's a mod that slightly moves the door in Old Lumière.

gotta learn to explore and leave no stone left unturned. as a rule if i can interact with a NPC i always do so until their dialog starts to repeat.

I specifically said 'Rush'.

I went in blind seeking to get all the achievements in the end but I made sure to explore and take my time with things and it's VERY hard to miss the old key. You have to just ignore or not think about the obvious vendors at the start of the game.

Maelle even gives you a token to use and you have to accept a prompt to leave so if anyone misses the key on a blind run whilst seeking achievements, they're 100% to blame.

The OP never said he rushed. That was an assumption on your part. And there are a lot of areas in the game. So, I could see why he might have missed something.

WTF are you even talking about...

The old key is found right at the very start of the game during the Expedition 33 festival. You have to rush to miss it and how many areas there are in the game means absolutely nothing when you haven't even finished the prologue yet.

I understand, but in my case, I thought tokens might be used later on. The game doesn't tell you what the artifact is.
That doesn't mean you're wrong though + achievements are optional.
I suggested the mod for OP if he cares that much, and that's it.

Hey good news, you can use the tokens in NG+ in another way

I missed the key myself and ng+ the whole game second time through for that one journal lol. It does suck, but ng+ was a lot of fun! I didn't go in wanting to 100% initially but decided to when I was in act 3, and all I was missing was the old key, the campfire cutscene music, and the one mime. Music and journals have to be all collected again so if you're not down to do that, there's mods. but I found great joy in playing all over again, I hope you do too
wow I find the replies hilarious. Deserved ? Whatever dude :P

This is the only missable item preventing 100%. Yes there's the peculiar encounter trophy (mime in lumière) but takes a couple of minutes in a new game to achieve. PC players can mod the old key, and I would if I could but i'm on ps5.

They actually fixed it for the music record "lumière" which can be obtained by beating the mime in lumère at the start of the game. I missed it and still got it when beating a boss in lumière at the end of the game. So they did fix that one, why not fix the old key ? That's my whole point to this post. you fixed it for the music box song, please do it again for the old key.

I did go in completely blind without a guide but loved the game so much I decided to do everything the game has to offer. I might do the game again in the future to get that last journal entry for that last trophy, I just think it's bad design to require that for this item alone.
