Looks like this game actually sold more than AC Shadows lol

Steam doesnt reveal sales figures but we can easily derive the approximate numbers by looking at other metrics.
The no. of reviews of this game is at 45k. This is over twice the no. of reviews left for AC Shadows at 18k.

On the Steamcharts, we can also see the all-time peak player count for this game is 145k. Meanwhile for AC Shadows 64k.
Notice how the increment % is similiar for both metrics (120% higher in terms of reviews and 150% higher in terms of playercount).

I hope this gives the bloody wakeup call needed to Ubisoft. Big games with big budgets doesn't mean s*** in terms of commercial sales anymore. Gamers want quality new IPs, not generic existing franchise milking uncreativity.

The other irony is that fans of AC have been asking for a title to be set in Japan for ages, and they wait until everyone is tired of the series to release it.

So yeah, I have no doubt that Ubisoft will learn nothing from this and instead come away with the idea that "we should never listen to what the fans want" or something.
