[Spoiler End Act 1] - Why did Lune ask about the fracture? Math doesn't math
I'm only at the start of Act 2. If there's a significant twist or reveal that explains this, please don't spoil and just tell me to wait. But I just realised this and wanted to discuss.

Why did Lune ask Verso about the fracture? She and everyone else would have known everything there was to know.

Quick maths:

Year 100 - Paintress paints '100' and expedition 0 leaves.
Susan is 16 years old and lives for another 42 years (aged 58)
In year 59, Bob is 15 years old and learns everything from Susan.
Bob lives another 22 years (aged 37)

That was only 4 years ago. Lune would have been 28 and could have learned everything that was to know from Bob. The majority of her life would have been spent with people who were adults alongside people who were at the fracture.

In fact, Lune is only 9 years younger than Bob. She would have been 7 when Susan died. She would have literally been taught by people who were alive DURING the fracture. That's taking Susan being 16. Someone who was 10 would have died with Lune was 11.

Not counting the fact that all of this would have been heavily documented.

Because first-hand accounts are always valuable to scientists, no matter how many you already have read.

Please leave the forums until you finish the story, there are end game spoilers right in thread titles. You WILL get spoiled.

I suppose I get a sense from the story that the Fracture is a mystery, almost mythical by this point. That it has now passed out of reliable record keeping, with it being 'so long ago' and that the only people who are alive now are too young.
With Verso's reveal (being from the Fracture) being a big deal, which, from the point of view of fracture lore, it is not. Lune would have met many people who were alive then.

Just got through the Forgotten Battlefield. Lune says "It's true, Lumiere used to be part of a bigger continent?"
Yeah, they didn't math it out at all! When Lune was a child, Loads of people who were alive were born BEFORE the Fracture.
