How does the Esoteric Ruins maze work?
Topic. I mean I can just read up the solutions, but most guide just tell you the solution and not how it works. They just tell me the exact steps, but I would rather understand the mechanism. Help me figure out the rule of ow the orbs work please? I can't determine which orb opens what.

I did it blind without a guide. So I can't quite tell you the exact steps. But a lot of the time I was making progress into the next room. Then experimenting with shooting back into the prior room or rooms and eventually I got the majority of the doors open.

Edit: Also you can play with the orbs and you will see a faint line going to the doors it opens or closes.

When you shoot the orbs, lines will shoot off from the orb in the direction of the door that it controls. You just need to turn the doors on and off in the right order and make a path.

Or just look up a guide that tells you the exact order and be done with it.
Did it blind on my second try, so no idea what's the correct solution. But I remember shooting back into previous rooms because that felt like an obvious thing to do.

I only sorta understood it, but it seems easy enough where even just randomly shooting for only a few minutes is gonna get you through.

One trick to realize is that you can shoot orbs while inside of its room, or outside of it.

While it looks like it at first, the orbs aren't connected to adjacent rooms. They can be, but you have to watch for the angle to understand which door they're triggering.

Honestly, I have no idea what I did to solve it, I just know I got through it ><
