Some of the Worst Performance I have ever seen
I have a 2080Ti, Ryzen 7 5800x and 32GB Ram playing on an SSD. No matter what settings or tweaks to DLSS or TSR I go with it doesn't make any difference even at 1080p. I get consistently 30 to 50 fps and sometimes more depending on the scene.

I've even done engine.ini tweaks to disable LUMEN and performance mods but nothing seems to work.

Your video card is 7 years old. It's time.
The game's been a crash fest for me since I hit 45 hours. I haven't been able to finish my first playthrough, and I have NEWER gen GPU and CPU

There have been a lot more people saying they're crashing, especially since the recent patch. Just wondering, do you have any mods installed? There was definitely some crashes happening due to mods, but that doesn't account for all of it.

Recommended GPU is a 3060 Ti, which is almost universally worse than what I have. Specs for recommended CPU is exactly what I have.

If I could get 60 fps at any settings that would be one thing, but clearly there is an issue here.
9900K w/ 2080 Ti at 2560x1080P here.

I get anywhere between 55-85 FPS depending on the location and what's happening. Overall i see mid 65s to early 70s but when i first started i had, and i kid you not, 30 FPS. I almost considered refunding the game but i looked up a few videos and tweaked some settings around and managed to make things more than playable. Multiple settings are still on Highest too. Due to the game not needing to restart after a settings change you can mess around and see your FPS go up or down in real time as you try to find a good number

Then I'm at a loss. Because tweaking the settings doesn't help at all, especially during certain scenes in the prologue like the one at night after the painter is shown. Absolutely abysmal and inconsistent fps. Sometimes during the rest of the prologue it was decent but kept dipping down constantly the second I turn my camera.

I have a 4090, intel i9 13900kf, 64gb of ram, 2tb nvme ssd and after the recent patch 1.2.3 I've been around 50-55 fps no matter what I do. Before the patch I would usually get 120-130fps on dlss dlaa everything maxed at epic (besides motion blur, film grain etc). Even now when I lower the settings or change the performance mode the fps stays around 50-55fps. I saw some other people mention this and I'm not sure if its relevant (SPOILER WARNING!!!!!!) I have beat Simon. I've seen other players on other discussions talking about performance issues after they defeat Simon. I literally beat him yesterday and then today I'm having issues when I get on.

Also I'll mention I'm running on nvidia driver 576.28. I did reinstall this driver with a clean install and it did get me back up to the fps I was originally experiencing at 120-130fps for about 30 minutes and then it started to get stuck around 50-55fps again.
GPU is absolete. Its UE 5 game, even the newest GPUs have problem with this engine (not even 5090 is able to have constant 60 fps in 4k maxed). U can use mods/tweaks for fps boost or buy losless scaling and use its frame generator.

I'm also using an old driver (556.12). I tend to only update as a last resort as there's been many times old drivers were more effective than new ones for gaming.

are you using slow ram by any chance, 9900k stock ddr3200 gets me 70fps, oc 3600 gets 90-100fps
rtx 2060 super here and im running the game on a mix of medium to epic settings I get a nice 60 fps in most areas.

a few have been bad. in which case I just temporarily lowered the settings and that remedied it.

definitely experienced FAR FAR worse performance in other games.

I got a 3060 with the game running on 45-60 fps on 1440p depending on the area. There was only one time in the entire game I had to lower settings to performance mode it near the near of the game on a boss which made it impossible to parry an attack.

This is the setting I used

Also for some reason game's performance takes a massive dump if I don't restart my PC before playing. Bit of an annoyance but an easy price to pay for it to look good.

I play on a 5800X3D with 32 GB DDR4 3200 and a 7900XT. At 4k with everything on epic setting and without upscaling (XeSS set to anti aliasing only) I get at minimum of sometimes around 30 fps but mostly 45-55 fps. So a 4090 should be far above that or something is wrong.

Yeah I think I'm gonna wait a bit and see what the patches do. Maybe it gets better performance wise down the road but I'm not taking the chance when I'm getting below 30 fps during the prologue.
