Very Late Game Boss that applies Inverse?
I used a Pictos that dispels the first applied status effect. Worked great- Inverse simply doesn't apply.

...And then at some point it applies, without the boss doing a move that declares it applied, and without the game saying it was applied. It's just back on the characters again. And then I lost because I healed everyone thinking they were not inversed, but they were.

Is this a bug? Why does the game not declare Inverse is applied again the same way it does for everything else? Did the devs forget you could use this pictos so there's no actual display of it being applied when it comes back?

(Also, what's the best way to get rid of it?)

Good, you are stronger now. Can't see minuses in having inverse. Actually no, I think only Pictosversion gives you power for having inverse.

That Picto to dispels status effect works only once per battle

Yeah I clearly know that, I'm saying that there's no indication that it's being re-applied. It does not do an attack that says it's applying it, it does not display an indicator that it is being applied (text floating above the characters on hit), it doesn't display the indicator in the corner that an effect is applied. The icon appears by the character portrait again at some point, that is the only indicator it's back.

I just fought this guy and took a gamble on using Lune's first healing spell that heals and removes status effect and it both removed inverted and healed me. I guess in the game code the skill removes the status effect before the heal.

Best way that ignores healing/blight is Shielding Death. There is also one picto that can ignore status by using spare AP.

Also helps to do endless tower first as it gives tons of levels and probably enough dodge training for the rest of the game

Draining something is the picto that uses AP to prevent status. Really handy if you suck at dodging during a gimmick fight. Inverse and Blight are two of the nastiest statuses in the game though.
