It's weird that there is no auto dialog, and you have to keep advancing it manually.
As the title states. Have the devs said anything about this? Are they going to add it in a patch?

I believe this is a valid complaint. Why do I have to press a button to advance non interactive dialogue? Doesn't Elden Ring do the same stupid thing?

I would hope for a patch.

This must be some ancient JRPG trope or so?

I believe for ER there is a mod that auto advances all the non interactive dialogue. Because it really is annoying and pretty pointless.

It's true that this used to be a standard (though i think more from technical limits of the time) but i think the main reason is because the studio simply didn't have the ressources to create voiceovers for all kinds of languages. We only have french and english. Any non-native speaker who isn't completely fluent in either of those will need time to read subtitles. And since everyone has their own pace at reading it only makes sense NOT to auto-advance. It's an inconvenience for us, sure. Making it optional would help. But that would also require time and work to create proper timings for each and every dialog. I can understand why they went with the "simpler" way that works for all customers.

I must not play many games since such as issue was never on my mind. People never push buttons for dialogue in games?
mommy mommy the video game makes me push a button after text finishes playing in my video game

lol, of course not

I'm intrigued and horrified at the same time

Right now I also play FF7 remake. You follow your crew threw different areas, sometimes you can barely hear what they say, best case read it, it autoflows, meanwhile npcs of the area speak to each other, sometimes louder then your companions.

In the end I prefer COE33 approach until I feel that I've not that much time to spare.

Thank you, you get some special people in here sometimes that just love to be a negative betty about something that's a valid point.

I do hope so myself. The constant shimmer sound when pressing next between the short dialog are a little meh. Having an option to have it set as auto wouldn't break the immersion and fluent dialog as much.

Very valid point in fairness, makes much more sense now as to why this is a thing. Though I do hope at some point as a QOL update it's added in.

Yeh, if I was you I'd stick to watching your creepy animal fetish stuff. Adults are talking here. Thanks. Enjoy the points.

It's more so for a smoother experience. Personally there's nothing worse than a conversation that doesn't flow naturally during dialogs. But as one of the comments above stated, that must of been the reason for it.

I can respect that :)

Just skip all the dialogue and then complain later that the story didn't make any sense.

What a bizarre comment. At least reply with something constructive. Think a few people here have the same 'feelings hurt' tendencies rather than having a constructive opinion.
there should be an OPTION to auto advance dialogue in those conversation pieces.

its very annoying and leads to stilted delivery of the lines having to press a button all the time.

also its very annoying that subtitles appear for dialogue when just running around. i turned subtitles off, yet im still getting them even though i can hear the people speaking very clearly.

options. options. options. its the core of pc gaming ffs!
