..can *block every* attack..
There are also two more things you can do vs certain attacks that allows for counter damage, but those appear later in the game. I don't think.. jump and gradient attacks can be dodged/parried.. but unsure about that.
Everything you can dodge you can also parry, but the parry window is smaller than for dodge. Bigger risk, greater reward (assuming parrying all attacks in a combo).
It is built on reactivity and keeps you on your toes every fight. So yes, stimuli in a form of an upcoming attack - react with parry or dodge when an attack is about to land.
It's a dopamine simulator whenever you succeed at your execution.
You are absolutely right, gradient and jump attacks are their own category and should be dealt accordingly and exclusively with a method that exists specifically for them.
