Patch 1.2.3 - stendahl and medalum nerf
Today patch 1.2.3 has been dropped, most important balance changes via steamdb:

Weapon and skill fixes and tuning:
- Fixed Lithelim attribute scaling not working at high level. Reduced initial Vitality scaling from A to C (will still end at S at max level). Added Luck scaling starting at D.
- Fixed Blizzon attribute scaling not working at high level. Reduced initial Luck scaling from B to C (will still end at S at max level). Added Defense scaling starting at D.
- Fixed Medalum third Lumina doubling all damage in Virtuose Stance instead of doubling only Burn damage.
- Stendhal: Reduced damage by 40%.

Im glad that they balancing the game even if people here said that it is single player so game balance is not important lmao

My only issue with camera is situation when sometimes my characters blocks vision so i dont see enemy attacks
Wish stendhal nerf was harder tho. 40% is a joke basically - it still does the same damage under marks/debuffs which is more than 95% of other skills.

But part of it was Medalum that doubled all dmg instead of burn so for broken builds with Medalum the dmg from Stendhal is reduced to 30% of the original

I also think they shoould nerf it more but this is still the move in the right direction. I dont tested this yet cause i just started new playthrough with having in mind using game balancing mods.

no weapon was nerfed in this patch, at the very least at high level.
Simon can be easily one shot with nerfed Medalum and nerfed Stendhal. So all is fine, they did not ruin the game by balancing, just fixed errors.

I hope they will change the way these multipliers works to additives instead of multiplies. This one change would greatly improve the balance of all the effects.

their vision for the move seems to be it being op. which is fine. they basically told us outright that making broken build is not the exception, its the norm and they want to keep it that way.

nerfing it by 40% seems to be a deliberate decision. they probably looked at the theoretical maximum damage it can do with max level and synergies and decided, 40% less is what its supposed to be like.

The nerf is stupid because

A. Maelle can still hit for 4 billion with gommage which has a higher multiplier.
B. Verso is just as strong
C. Even with the nerf she still 1 shots 99% of bosses.
D. You can auto-death kill 95% of the game still even on NG+
E. 98% of the playerbase has 80 IQ and can't figure out the very simple lumina system anyway so this nerf doesn't do any thing to them it only affects a minority which I thought in 2025 we agreed was a bad thing to do. (anecdotal evidence based on me watching numerous playthru's on youtube and streams where I'm baffled people are so weak even at the end of Act 3).

its a waste of time to target stuff like this and you just piss people for no reason. If they really wanted to fix the damage scaling issue in the game they would just introduce a new damage Cap after act 2. People are going to rightfully be upset this was their priority when there's all kinds of wonky camera and mouse and keyboard issues people want solved... or you know a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retry button. Doing stuff like this as your first major patch just sours the good will you made with everyone for no reason no one asked for it.

"Stendhal: Reduced damage by 40%." crazy how lazy the devs are this is a singelplayer game and nerv work always nice at this ... not wtf maybe fix the crazy cam or the mouse out of the window

fair enough. i think this just shows how pointless it is to try and balance the game in the first place. clearly, the content wasnt really made to keep up with the insane scalings and synergies in this game. and in my opinion, the devs should keep it at that. let the ppl who cry about it play path of exile or sth.

wait until everyone who complained finds out you can one shot 99% of bosses / enemies in act 3 with any character 😳

- Fixed Medalum third Lumina doubling all damage in Virtuose Stance instead of doubling only Burn damage.

Now all the "build expert" YouTubers will need to redo their videos.

Yup, "oh noes my bug exploiting super build of the death " . Tho TBF post fix Medalum will still be the best weapon choice for most builds out there due to how much stronger inverting the order between whatever you want to do in Virtuose stance and then going to 1 HP to rego in virtuose stance is, once you've got both Cheater and Shortcut; and post nerf Stendhal is still going to obliterate most stuff in the game with little effort or lumina investment, and obliterate the rest of that stuff just by pilling up more damage buffing luminas; so they may not change it that much yet, unfortunately.
