Otherwise, I still highly recommend general exploration of all areas, even if you can't defeat everything. You can find so much good stuff just by evading enemies and looting pictos and weapons. Finding good loot and putting together a strong build can help you so much more than just simply parrying everything that comes your way.
There are lots of mini areas, but some of the actual dungeons are Frozen Hearts, Flying Manor, and Renoir Drafts. Do them in that order, though you may have to do some initial things before Frozen Hearts if you aren't that strong just yet.
There's really too much to list. Also make sure to go back and fight everything you had skipped initially, like frozen Eveque and the grosse tete thing.
Many of the things are on the world map and have no portal, tho lol
