While it doesn't matter, you forgot that the beginning has copy pasted black people among the crowd. Best get your own arguments correct.
What a weird time to be alive in.
I have encountered one person in my life who used the word "woke" as a diminutive who wasn't a racist idiot who likely found high school challenging if they made it through it at all. I doubt the OP is the second.
"Forced diversity" is more of a cynical corporate policy than a politically-motivated one to sell more copies of a game. Actual progressives in America have little to no corporate influence because progressives are largely anti-corporate and face heavy political opposition from both sides of the mainstream American political system. How many progressive billionaire or even millionaire CEOs do you know arguing for more taxes or higher wages for their employees? I certainly can't name any.
I think a lot of people misattribute the corporate enshitification of games for profit to some sort of systemic liberal agenda corrupting the gaming industry, but ironically it's just capitalism freely doing capitalism things to sell as many copies of a game as possible. Even if a corporation is explicitly trying to make a game "woke," and hiring "woke" writers, it's purely because the C-suite executives think it's good for business, and not because they want to promote a political agenda of some kind.
Clair Obscur isn't made by a billion-dollar corporation with publicly traded stocks (it's actually made by a lot of ex-Ubisoft developers), so they had all the creative freedom to create exactly the game they wanted to make. Crazy how you end up with one of the greatest games ever made when you give your artists and engineers the creative freedom to make exactly the game they want to make, and not the game shareholders think will make them the most money by Q4.
This game is not woke or anti-woke -- it's just a damn good AA game with a AAA presentation and high-quality writing and characters, with true, lasting mass appeal. If the game was a huge failure instead of a resounding, monumental success, Lune's presence as a main character for example would undoubtedly trigger plenty of "go woke, go broke" accusations; but since the game is incredible, it's really hard for even the most reactionary of reactionaries to care about culture war ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like the ethnicity of a main character, and the game is declared "not woke."
Also, your use of the word "woke" here is ironically an American export from the very culture war you want nothing to do with. It was originally an African American term used to describe an awareness of social issues (particularly racial and social justice-related) and has been co-opted by reactionaries in recent times as a derogatory term for people or media perceived as "woke."

Rant aside, I agree wholeheartedly with you that this game is a masterpiece. France should be proud of this cultural victory. I can't wait to see more games from Sandfall and France. :)
I'm very well aware to the origin of the word woke but that definition is not what actually apply here anymore. It is a collective of supersub group of radical progressive people who want to push their Modern American culture onto other country. Black people in France live with 0 problem and won us many football league and proud. So this game is definitely not woke as they don't push any of that american propaganda here.
Black Character act like they are suppose to act, act like French if you play the game in french. They are french and not stereotypical ricain wokeness. It is a refreshing to see that Europe is recovered from the madness that come from the USA.
Buy this game like me for anyone who don't like woke in their game and want to experience true european value. that is expedition 33
