There's an endgame challenge area that has all the enemies you'll need to get all of Monoco's skills. You can access it once you've finished Act II.
As for the sword, if you go talk to Golgra in her hut you should see an option to duel her. Beating her as Maelle will give you the Medalum.
You can get the sword later yes, late game, also in the village
Edit : I stand corrected, skill is not missable
And TBF we really shouldn't help Bayaz, it never ends well
Not bothering with spoilers its pretty much a generic end game gauntlet as far as rpgs go.
Sciel has an unique weapon from the arena/Golgra too
That is misinformation spread by incorrect rushed guides during the game's release. That skill can be obtained in the Flying Manor, as the boss infinitely respawns there.
What do you mean we shouldn't help Bayaz? I'm just a poor old mage who wants what's best for the realm! xD
Bro I feel like I rushed through this game because I didn't realize I should have just explored the map. I went from objective straight to the next objective. It doesn't help that on PC with mouse and keyboard navigating the map is super annoying and clunky. (you can only move the map with your keyboard and if you move your mouse it cancels out moving your map lol) And going into the areas you don't have any maps. I'm at the point now in act 2, where I was wondering if the game would end basically, I'm at the monolith and can enter to supposedly fight the paintress, but not sure if the game will throw a curve ball at me yet . So now I'm busy going back and doing all the side stuff and side areas on the map. I just did my first beach. But on the other hand I know that Esquie can fly eventually, and a lot of areas seem locked before I can fly .. or swim underwater, haven't unlocked both abilities
I only realized how much I was missing when I checked other players and saw their outfits, swimsuits etc.
That's the attack you get from the bouncing dude right? I've finally started to explore the map, near the end of act 2. And I just fought that dude and by chance had esquie in the party because he and verso were underleveled, so I had just put them in my party to level them. I was also just underleveleled against that boss to begin with, I just kept countering him. Figured he was like that boss you had to counter until your broke him. But instead after countering him for like a 100+ times dude self destructed lol
