[Minor spoiler] Question about the Chromatic Veilleu

The Chromatic Veilleu sends out a blight wave, which I never manage do dodge. Is it possible to dodge or anyway avoid it? Did somebody succeed in avoiding that attack?

'Attacks' which purely apply statuses but no damage at all don't seem to be avoidable. Similar to when Maelle applies defenseless to all 3 enemies for 1 turn. She doesn't have to do a QTE for the 'attack'. They just simply happen.
