This game just like Sekiro, Lies of P or any similar action game, player needs to memorize enemy pattern attack and timing when to press the button, and todo that player must not fear about failing and learn by doing.
This is rhytm game, not reaction game
In dark souls, you can parry right when the monster swings at you, in this game, you parry at the right time or you fail.
dodging seems very easy to do though.
I'm probably older than most of them and I'm still enjoying the game. You should not change/rework the entire mechanics of a game just so XYZ-type of player can play happily too. Stop advocating for games to be 'made for everyone'. Made for everyone = made for no one. If it's not for you, THAT'S OKAY! Just play something else!
