Parry & Dodge system needs to be changed
The dodge needs to be a QTE and the parry needs its timing for when you can press it adjusted.

Its far to skill based and I am lacking in that department. I cant "get good" I'm to old!

I am old and slow and I just can not doge and parry in time 70% of the time.

It is way to unforgiving in its timing, a 100-200ms or so to quick or slow and your done bud.

I wouldn't mind so much but without it you lose fights all the time. It needs to be tweaked or at the very least made so there is an option to have dodge as a QTE.

I am losing so many fights from this. I hear the audio que to press q or e but by the time my brain has heard the sound, and pressed the key I'm like 3 working days to friggin late!

I hope the devs are about reading this forum and make some changes to it pllleeeeaaseee.

I cant play it like this as its just making me angry. Doing fights 5-10 times just so at some point I get lucky and manage to dodge or parry enough to win.

Old guy, here. Currently at end-game. Going around the map, doing optional stuff.

It isnt hard, you just don't wanna do it.

I dont think the system needs to be changed, but if you are still struggling on the easiest difficulty, then perhaps the devs just need to add an even easier one. The game should be playable no matter your skill level, considering its very story driven. If worst comes to worst though, there are several mods out there already that make the parrying and such even easier

I find that early on you go full vitality. it provides a LOT of chances to make mistakes and your healing is based on your hp total so you heal more (allowing for more mistakes).

Later, when hp from pictos MASSIVELY outstrips gains from vitality you respec more into agility (hopefully with weapons that benefit from it) and your weapon stats.

It's almost impossible to struggle in story mode difficulty. Either you faced an optional boss which still has a lot of lee way or you're deliberately falling asleep while playing to not bother healing.
You can no joke takes almost 10 hits from an Expert mode boss that would either one shot or leave your team in the ICU.

Yep

More rhythm based than anything else.
Reflexes and prediction are only needed the first couple times you see an attack. But once you know all the cues, it's purely a rhythm game.

Vanilla parry / dodge windows are insanely small at 0.15sec / 0.22sec
This is so small it can feel outright broken / bugged depending on player & setup
You got two options if you can't work with vanilla:
- play tanky builds on Easy difficulty, you can tank quite a bit
- mod the parry/dodge windows so they will feel responsive / functional

Rule #1 = ignore all the usual gatekeeping tossers & do your own thing

Finally settled on "easier" myself and the game's fun factor went up * 10
Also has a "harder" version, if anyone fancies that, for even stricter windows

Rule #2 = also consider the mod that removes cutscene fps cap & letterboxing

That's what story mode is for, you.
The parry is actually so much harder than dark souls because you need to wait more, I love it.
