I beg to differ. There can be only 1 GOTY.....1.
When you're a juggernaut company that has everything, you want the hardest things to get that money can't buy. Them releasing after this game proves my point. They were confident no game this year can beat it, until they this got released.
The timing of delay is very sus.
That new trailer is magical and if you played any rockstar games it's all in game. They're probably delaying for performance issues.
That's exactly why I believe Rockstar cares, they never won, making it more desirable. They already know they'll make money if their game is release year or next and no game will affect it's sale. But having a few awards sure wouldn't hurt.
Saying Rockstar don't care about awards because they just want money is like saying professional sport players don't want world titles. because they just play for money. Rich people seek titles and awards because you can't buy them.
Yes money is what everyone wants more than anything, but my point is once you have it in abundance you start to desire things that are harder to obtain...recognition is one of them.
Again delaying their game just says it all, otherwise we would've had GTA game annually like Call of Duty. If they release one every year I can guarantee you they would've made more money than releasing their GTA6 after 50 years.
As someone who's become financially well off, which nobody likes saying aloud without sounding like a rich arrogant prick. But I have fortunately done well with stocks, and will say knowing first hand that when you are at the point were you can buy anything you want....everything that you can buy with money loses it's value.
I'm 99.99% sure Rockstar wouldn't mind having GOTY award.
Rockstar don't need this honor of GotY. It's like Elder Scrolls VI or the Witcher 4. They don't need to be GotY. They will sell these 2 games like hot cross buns because fan base is already there (as for GTA' fans).
