That said, if I didn't break the game, I would still be playing on expert either way...
It's just more engaging to me.
The game's difficulty has peaks and valleys. Some points you'll steamroll everything for hours, and then feel you're bashing your head against a brick wall without making progress.
When I went through I had stages of "I can parry everything!" and leaning into counter attack damage, all the way to "how TF am I am to do this?!?! While choosing dodges for their forgiving I-frames.
It's a roller coaster, luckily one that you can change the difficulty on at any time (and there's no achievement for difficulties)
So it's kinda hard to say a certain difficulty is needed. Start on Expeditioner, and adjust as your fun suggests.
But the amazing thing is that you can change the difficulty setting whenever you want in the options and there aren't any achievements tied to difficulty, so go nuts.
Thanks for the information about achievements, I was just wondering if there are any for completing the game on a given difficulty level. I want to complete the game later with 100% achievements.
