Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Exceptional situation
For the first time, after an hour playthtrough I decided to purchase game despite the fact that I can play it in gamepass. For me, Clair it's one of the games I immediately loved. I just have a question about the difficulty level, which difficulty level should I choose? I like a challenge and I started at the expert level, but I've read that the game gets difficult over time. In your opinion, what level is appropriate for the first playthrough?

Personally I've been playing on Expert since the beginning and haven't had any issue, it was quite enjoyable actually because it made the Nevrons much more formidable monsters and therefore the world more realistic in a sense.
Expedition gives a good amount of challenge. It doesn't matter where you start as you can change it at anytime. If you find expert is too hard in areas. Lower it. There is no achievements or gain for playing at any difficulty.
I have been playing on expert, but broke the game for myself by beating the secret arena and turning Maelle into a solo powerhouse...

That said, if I didn't break the game, I would still be playing on expert either way...
It's just more engaging to me.

I suggest playing on Expeditioner.

The game's difficulty has peaks and valleys. Some points you'll steamroll everything for hours, and then feel you're bashing your head against a brick wall without making progress.
When I went through I had stages of "I can parry everything!" and leaning into counter attack damage, all the way to "how TF am I am to do this?!?! While choosing dodges for their forgiving I-frames.

It's a roller coaster, luckily one that you can change the difficulty on at any time (and there's no achievement for difficulties)

So it's kinda hard to say a certain difficulty is needed. Start on Expeditioner, and adjust as your fun suggests.
Depends if you are on medication like me which diminish your reaction time greatly, story mode it is. If you however have the reaction skills of a cobra and the eye of the tiger go expert. It can take a few battles to get used to the different attacks and when you do bosses on your first play-through some can insta wipe your party.

But the amazing thing is that you can change the difficulty setting whenever you want in the options and there aren't any achievements tied to difficulty, so go nuts.

Thanks for the information about achievements, I was just wondering if there are any for completing the game on a given difficulty level. I want to complete the game later with 100% achievements.

Game lets you change difficulty at any time with no ponallity. Start on normal, if its to easy, increas if to hard lower it.
