Pictos/weapons upgrade after fight ?
Hi all !

I'm not sure if "Pictos" are named this way in english. If not, I'm talking about the items you can equip to gain talents.

So, I noticed that after winning fights (some, not all) I have pictos and weapons that upgrades themselves (gain 1 or more levels). I don't know how it works, so I wondered if anyone knew ?

Is it after fighting a certain type of nevron (themed after the picto or the weapon) ? Is it random ?
Can only the pictos you have already unlocked (equiped for 4 fights) upgrade this way or anyone in your inventory ?

If anyone has clue, thanks for sharing. ^^

It's because the enemy has dropped either a weapon or Pictos at higher level than you already have, so it's automatically upgraded.

To add. It's not completely random. For instance, you will always get items or pictos fighting on the over-world at least the first time. So it's always a benefit to at least fight every grouping of enemies at least once.
As the guy above said, any time a picto that you already have is dropped by a enemy, it can result in a upgraded version of that picto with better stats. Same thing can happen to weapons.
Thanks for the answers ! It makes sens. ^^

Are the drops random (except for that over-world fighting thing mentionned above, not sure I got it right) or are they linked to a type of ennemy ?
Say you want to upgrade a fire themed picto, are there better chances to upgrade it by fighting fire themed nevrons or is it just random luck ?

And, just to be sure, there is no other way to upgarde pictos, right ? I can definitly upgrade weapons at camp, that I know, but I never saw any way I could upgrade pictos, beside the post-fight upgrade.

I have tested this and no. Once you get the upgrade you normally can't get it again from the same enemy group. You usually just get money. So you should try to fight each enemy group at least once to get the drops.

To add. Much later on. There is a merchant that you can fight and open SOME picto upgrades but not all. The one I saw upgraded to level 20 but was pretty pricey. So there is different ways to get upgrades.

I think the more accurate word would be replacing.
Some enemies drop a picto or a weapon the first time you kill them. And only once.

When you find a stronger version of the same enemy they will drop stronger version of the same item. Only once again.

So no, you can’t farm picto or weapon upgrades this way. It’s a single time drop replacing weaker version.

Pictos are equipments with passive stats, and Pictos level up(it's Picto stats increases) when you earn the same Picto. They level up after 4 battles, and becomes Lumina, thus Lumina allows you to equip the Picto passive for anyone in the party.
