Brother it don't
https://ibb.co/5xSMG5bx
my man no one except you is talking about the area inbetween the dungeons / regions, I was in the village still and did not know where to go cause the description I got was so vague
At least one person thats helpful. Thank you.
I don't know how often I have to repeat this, I am not talking about the overworld. I am talking about inside the regions / areas you go to. There is no map in these.
I do agree that it sounds like there's a "backdoor" in the Village map. There isn't.
Anytime,
Gestral village was actually hard to navigate due to its circular architecture but most dungeons are fairly linear and have recognizable places to help not being too lost
Yes, it does. It's right here:

In-fact, the game stops everything to show you how to access it along with the other series of tutorial prompts it freezes the entire game so that you can read the information before you click to continue right at the start of Spring Gardens after the prologue. You can press this button to display the compass at any time.
That it freezes the whole game to give you as long as you want to read and understand the information and you have to then click a specific button to continue means that this was impossible to miss. Well, unless you mindless clicked past all the information explaining the basics of how to access all the UI stuff without reading it, which, in this case, that's kind of your fault for ignoring the game telling you this stuff and then becoming angry at your own refusal to read.
It's worth remembering that exploration is a major and important part of this genre of games. You're expected to search around maps to see what you can find. If you don't, you are going to miss all sorts of cool stuff and side-activities. You also walk right past the very huge, conspicuous, bright red and closed door on the way to the village. It's right in your face and screams 'this will open for easier access to this area later', then the game tells you the door has been opened. Sure, it doesn't quantify the 'door', but how many huge, imposing, and clearly going to open later doors did you pass on your way to the village? If you were doing the expected thing with a JRPG and exploring as you go, you'd have found esquies nest before going in and tackling the maze for serious. I would imagine the majority of players when told the password would have thought "ah, so that's where the password comes from" because they already tried to visit Esquie and was told no. not until they learn the password.
You will enjoy this game a lot more if you play it as intended, by exploring stuff as it opens up, rather than looking to constantly follow a breadcrumb trail of some description. Plus, you are literally playing as a band of explorers in an unfamiliar place. Exploring and becoming occasionally lost in the woods is a diageticly relevant part of the experience.
I think the main problem here was that they were referring to the "back gate" so I intentionally went around the village when I exited the Chef's house and looked for said "back gate"
That could have been so easily avoided if they just said "go through the gate right infront of you once you exit the house"
dude stop being a ♥♥♥♥, you cant get the worldmap while in the village
Ah yes,
- game is vague with it's descriptions of where to go while also not having a map while in the individual areas.
- players SURPRISINGLY are having difficulties navigating.
