The game's button UI switches to keyboard and mouse

I use a controller (Xbox), but when I start a battle or rest at a flag, the button UI frequently switches from the controller to the keyboard/mouse. It is completely random and has no pattern. Of course, I did not touch the keyboard or mouse. It happens regardless of whether SteamInput is on/off. If I press any button on the controller, it returns to the controller UI, but it happens so frequently that it is quite annoying.

Your mouse might be drifting than if it keep changing, does unpluging it stop it?

Yeah, I'll have to try turning off the mouse completely this time. It hasn't happened to me in other games..

the worst part of that happening is it screws with the button inputs.....and my mouse keeps drifting out to my other monitors....even full screen dont keep the mouse in game

I just turned off my mouse and tried playing a game and the same thing happens. Amazing..
I'm using a laptop and tried turning off both the trackpad and the wireless mouse.

I have the same problem. are you using an official xbox controller. Did you try to disable steaminput for this game and see if you have the problem again. I just disabled steaminput for the game and I will try to see if I have this problem later of if its gone. I will report back.

Hi. Yes, I have already tried turning off Steam Input. I have also tried turning on Steam Input. I have also tried turning off the mouse. Regardless of method, the issue occured. I have used a genuine Xbox 4th generation (Series X/S) controller connected via Bluetooth.

Yeah, same here, it's definitely not your mouse. The mouse cursor sometimes shows up in the middle of the screen (usually on a battle start), and the prompts change to keyboard, I nudge the right stick or whatever and they go away. It is mildly irritating though.

For the record, I don't use Steam Input, it's an 8bitdo Ultimate in the XInput mode.

This seriously needs a patch from devs.

Not only the issues mentioned above, I sometimes got stuck on the character menu as well and can't change anything until I click my mouse, only then I can revert back to my controller. Using wired PS5 dual sense btw, steam input disabled.

Same here i can play some time but then the UI statrts switching between Keyboard and my XBox Controller icons and at this point i cannot use the controller in the menu any more. The A button wont work at all and some of the up/down inputs dont always work. I already tried all Steam Input setups and i plugged my mouase and keybords but it still happens. Only workarround for me ist restart the game every time it happens and then i can play 20-40mins before the issue reoccure. Really annoying

Unfortunately, this bug is not fixed even in patch 1.2.3(currently the latest version)
I guess we'll have to wait a little longer until the next patch.. hope it gets fixed soon

On PC, playing with a Flydigi Vader 4 Pro (detected by Windows as Xbox controller) and this is happening to me. I also tried completely turning off my keyboard and mouse and no dice, still happens.

At least it's only a minor bug. And it doesn't usually happen this frequently, so hopefully restarting the game will help. I started the game with only a m/kb enabled.

This has happened to me as well, and the button prompts changing to keyboard on occasion as well.

For example it happens when I'm in a fight and when I need to parry, dodge etc., as the game "switched alone" to K+M, it doesn't take the input I used with my controller (as pressing R1 when the "switch" happened just "give back" the control of the game to my controller so I lost the parry/dodge input and take the damage).

You can check that just by staying in the menu where there are the characters, if you see your "shorcut" going from "A, B, X, Y" to "F, E, etc." without touching your mouse or keyboard, you have the same problem
