Is 9,999 a hard cap on single attack dmg?
So here is a funny thing. First 3 dungeons my characters deal 500-1500 dmg on average.
After that I unlocked few skills for mage and 4th character joined.

No both deal 9,999 dmg after 1-2 turns of preparations.

1. Isnt it a bit early for SUCH power spike? 5 times more dmg out of nowhere.
2. Isnt 10k dmg cap a bit low? Bosses have A LOT of hp. Even with that dmg it took me like 20 turns to kills some side bosses.

It's a hard cap until later into the game.
after you finish act 2, you get a pictos that enables you to do more than 9999 dmg per hit
Later on you unlock the damage cap, don't worry you can't miss it.
Near the end of the story you get a picto that allows you to break the damage cap. It's better to rush through the story then do side content after.

i had similar problem too, so what i did was used lower AP skill requirement and go for skills that had multiple hits, even if they were weaker.
multiple hit kinda of allows you to do more dmg than 1 hit thats cap.

I thought about that as well. Should probably respec Sciel. She has 2-6 hit combo which would probably work much better.

But its still a very bizare choice on devs part.

Its not about balance. Play the game, otherwise you will spoil yourself here. People often spoil here.

If you are hitting the 9999 cap, focus on multi-hit skills, rather than single-hit skills, until you reach Act 3. The cap is per-hit, not per-skill, so you'll be able to overcome it somewhat.

To be fair, if you're hitting the cap in act one, you've depending too much on some cheese you googled or found on yt or reddit.

Dude. What cheese? Sciel applies foretel and uses her dark magic skill. It deals 7-10k dmg with 20 foretel. Its a skill you can learn like right from the get go.

Lune learns fire rage of what ever its name on lvl 10. It deals more and more dmg each turn. Putting her on auto attack mode. after 2-3 turns she reaches 10 dmg as well.

Its not some high iq combo or pictos build. Those are basic skils that arent even hight lvl.

Poor Gustave has half of his skills locked and does like 500 dmg at best. Overcharge takes too long to get and no AP regain skills like other characters.

Gustavo has that AOE lightning slash skill, whatever it's called, that's quite decent.
