If Verso and the rest of the family was created by Aline, AKA the paintress, then why did she imprison Clea and forced her to paint nevrons to kill everyone instead of protecting Verso and the canvas?

If the real Renoir, AKA the curator, was imprisoned under the monolith by Aline and they were stuck in a never ending battle, how come the curator was able to save Maelle on the beach and is also able to travel to the party camp around the world?

The fracture was caused by Renoir, coming inside the canvas to force Aline out of it. Then comes expedition 0 and the fake painter family joins them. Why didn't they explain to them that they should have gone under the monolith to try and kill the real threat? They should have been allied with them if they were really trying to protect the paintress.
Clea was repainted by real word Clea not Aline
Renoair created fracture and axions to imprison Aline and confront her - he lost and was imprisoned under the monolith
In meantime Clea repaints painted Clea, and created nevrons to suck/take away Chroma from Aline
smaller amount of Chorma that Aline have is responsible for countdown, she is unable to sustain her creations and contain Renoair under the monolith

Clea is the one who repainted initial Clea which was made by her mother and set her to create nevrons who will keep chroma from being released when people die so that it doesn't go back into mother. This slowly weakened the mother and put a limit on how long she can survive in the canvas before father releases her from it.

Faceless ones are just pieces of their souls, actual Renoir was imprisoned but a piece of his soul was able to help.

I don't know why they didn't reroute expeditions to deal with the Renoir instead of the paintress, it was the most logical way to deal with the situation. Just explain to them that paintress is the one fighting for their survival and there is someone else who is trying to destroy them and focus their expeditions on them.
Verso is the one that saves Maelle on the beach. You can actually see him protecting Maelle in the cutscene.
There's no dealing with Renoir. Killing a painter inside a canvas doesn't achieve anything except to boot them back out, and then they can just come right back in. We see that in the final boss too, when Aline reenters the canvas after what's basically 5 minutes of "real world" time.

1. Clea repainted Clea.
2. Versso saved Maelle
3. I assume that Expedition, Verso or both allowed for Rennoir to escape his imprisonment, but he stuck with hiding in order to avoid direct confrontation, yet helped us to boot his wife out.
4. It was mentioned in the beginning that the surviving members saw others gomage from being killed by the painted family. Hence, they help the Paintress with regaining her Chroma if they wipe out the expeditioners themselves (though it was said, we never actually saw the victims of painted father turn to petals), as ultimately fighting and beating the real husband would achieve nothing, since he'll be back in no time: rested, ready and wanting a rematch.

Renoir is freed when Aline is defeated. He is still trapped under the monolith before that.
