Review - Woke game but good
Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 - Woke game but also a good game

WOKExpedition 33 is actually a good game, I don't think anyone can say it's bad without exposing himself as a liar.

The game does indeed feature cultural marxism (it's woke) and denying it is as dishonest as saying the game is bad.

A game can be good and also woke, not only bad games are woke.

I won't enter into details about that, I rather praise the game for what it does right on this post but if you are interested the link of the video review is on the image below.

  • I really like that the game takes from other different genres and mix them in a very impressive way, the game is a souls-like but also the mechanics ressemble some of the old JRPG's but it also has ARPG elements too, many games fail when they try to take from other formulas but in this case I think it works pretty well.
  • The game clearly is a tribute in many ways to some of the old JRPG's and that is appreciated
  • The amount of customization in the game is outstanding and makes it a great excuse for multiple play throughs to try different builds.
  • The story is good, I really liked it, I can see some people would have prefered a more grounded story but for me it's very interesting because it touches on subjets that resonate with me a lot.
  • The music is also pretty good, I wish they made a main battle music theme instead of multiple ones because the way it is kinda prevents the game from having a personality, what I mean with this is that many of us just recognize an old RPG for it's combat music alone, that won't really happen as easily with this game.
The things I didn't like are kinda minimal but I will put the more egregious ones below:

  • I feel the delayed attacks are sometimes over used and the parry windows sometimes are way too weird or tight, I did liked the parry/dodge/jump system a lot I just feel like they could have toned down the delayed attack BS.
  • The thing that I disliked the most was the super endgame bosses and the endgame balance of the game, it's a mess and I think making the super end game bosses "balanced" around playing perfectly or the meta builds that basically oneshot everything is bad game design, and this is a problem with ARPG's and this game inherited that problem from those games. I really dislike putting a build and a team composition during 40 hours of playtime only to need to change it completely to be able to win to the super end game bosses, that or playing perfectly (100% parry or dodge) I just don't agree with that, I think this removes player expression.
Overall is a good game but for me the endgame balance was what brought the game down for me, maybe they can do some patches to make it so the super end game bosses are not that extremely reliant on playing perfectly or using  a oneshot build to bypass those clearly cheap mechanics.

If you are interested on my thoughs about the game check the image below, you can find a video review there.

Anyone who uses the term "woke" unironically has to be one of the saddest people out there. Imagine not being able to fully enjoy any piece of media or aspect of life because you're too busy imagining all the "evil wokeisms". Please people, touch grass.

You've been here for 21 years and you still can't recognize an obvious troll post?
Don't give this guy a clown point. He's looking to farm clown points LOL

Try actually listening instead of regurgitating the propaganda that "woke" doesn't exist.

You might be shocked at the truth of the world, if you're willing to leave Plato's Cave.

OP doesn't own the game, obvious troll, where in the game is there woke or Dei? at act 2 now not witnessed anything that isn't as real as it can be, nothing that would trigger woke or dei like the last of us part 2 or tiny tinas wonderlands for example, you guys just use the word woke when you don't like something or what? mind blowing. also OP mention "using a oneshot build to bypass those clearly cheap mechanics."

clearly OP has NEVER played any of the final fantasy games, ff7 for example x2 cut, knights of the round spam on last boss white wind with specific equipment "ribbons" another example of you have no idea what you are talking about everyone RPG has specific builds powerful abilities end game to take down specific encounters.

points farming is my guess or attention seeking, people trying all sorts to farm points as they are getting banned for the rainbow stuff now, kinda sad his existence has been painted only to serve as a troll.
Here we go again...

The game is not woke. Anyone calling it such is not actually part of the anti-woke movement. They are either farming clowns, or are part of the woke crowd who are upset that the anti-woke movement didn't boycott this game.
Can't help but notice that anybody calling the game "woke" has yet to articulate why, but instead point us to their crummy Youtube channel. It's a pathetic way to try and farm for engagement.

My favorite reasoning of one troll was Gustave being a trans-coded queer character XD

I swear, half of them just go to ChatGPT and ask it to put out some random bs.
