Verso is strongest - No contest

My Verso literally clears all nevron packs solo and can almost kill a boss in a single turn

How does this man easily get to use 20+ ap in a single round with multiple nevrons and then also kill all of them without even using a single ability

All my other characters only exist to support this giga chad

I have now finished the game at close to lvl 70 and Verso still kept putting out better numbers even though I began investing every lumina and weapon upgrade on Maelle

Yeah I can understand that, without damage cap lifted Im sure my opinion is scewed. With damage cap no one can compete with him, but yeah I think the strongest moves Ive seen for him are listed at like High Damage with 3 hits, I havent seen very High or Extreme. Yes. Before damage gets uncapped, you're sort of stuck with relying on multi-hit combos to work around the damage cap. Which is why for instance Verso was praised by OP. Cause you really value getting to hit a lot and take multiple turns without interruption. But once you get the damage uncapper, all of that suddenly doesn't matter (as much). Now all that matters is dealing the most damage you can, whether that is through one hit or multiple.

That's sort of one small critique I have of the game actually. I think they messed up the balancing a bit. Cause it's too easy to hit the damage cap, but it will actually take a while until you get that damage uncapper. And it just feels a bit bad to constantly have the game force a limit on you. I feel like they should've adjusted that a bit better.

For most people Maelle will never be the strongest because most people don't read guides on how to break the game and do all the side content to get whatever weapon or pictos needed for Maelle to become stronger.

Especially not when you can finish the game easily without ever needing whatever broken build Maelle can get after the credits have rolled.

You are still doing it wrong then.
Even post nerf / fix Maelle can hit over 1 billion damage in a single hit turn 1.
Phantom Strike deals 5-10 million damage to every target without elaborate buffs in under 10 seconds on the combat timer.
Please show me how Verso beats these numbers.

I am playing a single player game and I am not going to play a single player game as if it was a META multiplayer game where I need to read guides just to participate. I get whatever items and pictos I get and I do the best builds with those - Like most people do.

I had no issues during the whole game and finished most bosses before they got 1 turn. But please keep going, dude.

And at what level and what extra content do you need to get those huh? Do you get it by playing the story?

I've managed to get just over 3 million damage out of Maelle and just over 1.5 million out of Verso with an equivalent build, not all of the required pictos or weapons for a ridiculous build, and I haven't pumped Lumina points into any specific character, but shared them out across the 5 as I've no idea what I'm doing on a first run.

I never even read any guide or looked anything up online, and even I could instantly tell that Maelle was giga-broken in comparison to everyone else. It is pretty obvious. And it wasn't even like you needed super mega specific builds to get strong with her. Stendhal, which was one of the abilities nerfed this latest patch, was literally nerfed on Maelle BECAUSE it required basically zero setup and you still reached billions of damage. But even now post-nerf, you can still reach billions of damage on her.

I ve just killed Simon at lvl 90 and did 30 mil dmg with verso with just 300 lumina within 2 turns. maelle with same lvl and lumina count 10 mil dmg. Maybe there is some combination, but man Verso did Simon dirty.

Maele will do more by the sheer fact that she has free 200% on top of everything, while others don't. It's not even a competition, it's math.
