Question about the world-map *spoilers*

I just reached the world map for the first time.
I was curios about the size of the world-map so I did take a look.
The world map seems to have two rather large blanks.

Are the two areas in the image blank spots?
Can Esquie fly there? Is there actually something there?

Could those two be DLC regions?

Cloudy areas on the map is an indication that the area was not explored.

• The cloudy area on the left can be revealed, but cannot be traversed further as it contains nothing but the ocean behind the Endless Tower.
  
• The cloudy area on the right however contains several points of interest, along with a zone to enter.
