How to beat Simon? *spoilers*
Any one got any useful tactics for Simon on Expert?
I already defeted Clea and Painted Love but Simon I'm no where near actually winning, the fight is extremely punishing, pretty much a parry miss means the run it's over.

One-hit him.
Everbody gets First Strike and Cheater.
Make sure to remove everybody from the party except Sciel, then add someone who can mark and then Maelle.
Sciell buffs Maelle with double damage and all the other buffs.
Second character marks (Bonus: afflict him with Defenseless) and then Maelle needs the weapon that starts here in virtuose stance and executes Stendhal.
If you load her up with the right Lumina, she will deal well over 100 million damage.
Enough to kill him several times over.

He's the End Game boss. He's the last challenge in the entire game. Best to fight him when you've maxed out every character for your best odds. So, best equipment, every Lumina that fits your build, best Pictos you have and so on.

Minimum you should have a full party of Level 99 characters with 500 Lumina each.

Either that or you actually learn his parry timings. Which are insanely tight.

That's a bunch of bs.

Dude. If you're not the type of player who is good at parry mechanics, like a lot of people, powering through and tanking the damage is the safest bet.

It sure is a way to play the game.
Just oneshoting everything is much easier than tanking the hits, though.
Actually parrying Simon for more than 3 turns is insanity.
His patterns are so fast, especially in phase 2.

CAN you one shot Simon?

He has tens of millions of HP. Strongest attacks I've seen in my time playing was a 15mil counter

Maelle can hit for over 1 billion under the correct circumstances.
See my initial response.

You don't even need half that lumina on ONE character to oneshot him in both phases on expert. You certainly don't need level 99.

Ah. Yes. Maelle is broken. I just don't like her combat system. Too reliant on others.

She is not at all reliant on anybody.
Even solo she easily hits 60+ million.
I used to farm Golga with her, one-shoting her on the first move.

Wait until you find out that he has a 3rd phase in which he has two follow ups instead of one.

Ask me how I found out when I had him down to a sliver of health just to die and repeat the whole fight for another evening.

Okay, link a build showcase video of this. I've experimented with her builds plenty. I haven't come close to that much damage. 8 Mil at most.

Hmm I did beat Clea this way but I'm not doing enough damage to one hit Simon, might need to adjust the pictos.

My Maelle does 24M dmg with the lvl 3 Gradient

Team build: Monoco lvl 93, Lune lvl 93, Maelle lvl 93. 220-ish luminas (most of them are dmg but still missing some), 1hp, Virtuose stance

just look up any video online, youll see the damage potential is limitless fr
