Question before fight

Hey I just forged the barrier breaker sword to face neede to go to the monolith, is that the final fight? Should I finish a few secondaries quest before going there or can I return to the sea after I go there?

You're ok to do the fight. That will end act 2. Act 3 is where you do all the mop up.

Whether it's the end or not, you can explore the world once you beat the game.

Free roam with very very little FOMO. I think the mushroom quest is the only FOMO? And NG+ basically just let's you play all the way through again with all your stats and gear. Plus in NG+ everything is a bit stronger, so it's best to 100% the game before NGIng.
