Spoilers: After many hours, I just realized why Monoco collects feet, and it just is such a good design

ok, so I love the design of Monoco, Him being the family dog, and having his staff with a bell is his real life collar with a bell on it. I didn't think anything much about him collecting feet and learning other peoples moves.
This is my theory though, he collects feet, like a dog collects bones (part of a dead animal). Then he can learn the moves of others because dogs can take orders or often look to their owners for how to act. For example, "sit, stay, play dead" So it is another reason the design is so good, in my opinion.

There might even be some French superstition to feet that we are unaware of. I doubt it, and figure it's more of just a comedic/gimmick thing, Either way, we are getting all of the toes!

Pretty sure that was why he POLISHES his collection, not why he collects feet. He collects feet because that's how his power works. He polishes them for intimidation.
