Clarifications on how weapons work
Weapons work like in souls, so a higher letter in a stat, if I raise that stat I will do more damage.
But how does it work with might?
is it the stat that you always have to raise to do damage or is it better to only focus on what the weapon scales?
so far I have ignored the weapon scales and only focused on might, but I would like to understand how it is managed

Very early on stat points are going to be your main source of actual stats, so invest in what you need and ignore scaling factors entirely. If you want damage, invest in might. You're also going to be changing weapons frequently and it's not worth respecing every time to match the new scaling stats.

It flips by the endgame and a vast majority of your stats are going to be from pictos, so at that point you want to reset and dump everything into your weapon scaling stats.

so scale is better than power?
why?
the scaling isn't better than the power you get from Might until you get A scaling, so for the vast majority of the game don't worry about what your weapons scale on and just pump might. Recoat later.
There are a couple reasons. For one, higher level weapons have upgraded scaling letters, so a point in an A-scaling stat will give you more attack than a point in might. Two, when your pictos are giving you thousands of points in speed/health/defense, your individual stat allocations will do almost nothing for those values, so you may as well dump everything into your scaling stats.
just overall more stats, if something scales with your agi, pumping agi will give speed a bit of defense and whatever scaling for attack while power only gives attack. The level of the weapon also increases the scaling to pretty much match what leveling power would give, and if you have enough stats you can level power ontop of your scaling stats for even more attack since stats cap at 99

Ignore scaling, level stats mostly balanced. You'll be switching weapons quite often until you figure out a build that works for you.
