Game is crashing when loading save from main menu into Endless Tower and how I fixed it

I played the game for a while and I am at the end. I am currently in the Endless Tower, with only that and Renoir's Drafts to do before finishing the game. Now when I load up my save, it is constantly crashing before loading up the save.

I got it to work by loading a previous save from the Painters Workshop which is about 15 minutes back from my current save and it worked. I was then able to load up my most recent save back to the Endless Tower and that also worked. I do not know what was messed up with it, but it's the first time the game has crashed on me and it happened about 8 times with my first 2 most recent saves. Thankfully loading up the 3rd most recent one worked as I would hate to be this close to the end and have to start a new data.

Just wanted to say that this saved me from giving up. I tried my previous 5 saves and all were crashing when trying to load. However, since you stated that an older saved allowed you to then load a newer save, I decided to just load the oldest save I had.

And it worked, loaded the oldest save and then loaded the newest save and I've been able to keep playing without further issues for awhile now.

I was so mad when it was happening because I thought I was going to have to restart. I figured I would post about it in case it happened to someone else.

I just ran into this issue myself and doing the same thing fixed it for me too
