How does speed actually work? How can I get Maelle to go 1st?

Maelle in my team has twice the speed of both Lune and Moloco. She also has First Strike, and is the only one having it. Moloco goes first in every battle. Why? Maelle is the one who can break shields, I would like her to go first.

BTW, it doesn't make a difference as far as I can tell, but I am also going around the place moving Maelle, and she hits the enemy to start the fight.

Set up your party so that Maelle is solo, and then add the characterr you want to go 2nd, and then the character you want to go 3rd.

if more have first strike, remove those you dont want to go first from the party and re add them in the sequence you want them to go

If you attack the enemy and get "first strike" bonus for the team, then characters will act in order from the left to right. Speed will be ignored in such scenario for one round.
Team order can be changed to make Maelle attack first in pre-emptive strike situation.

If I understand correctly, this works with no need for an advantage first strike nor a picto first strike. In this case, when my characters play, the first of them to play will be Maelle. Is this right?
