Invincible glitch (Solved)

Edit: Wasn't a glitch. A comment down below helped me solve it. Im just dumb. Beware comments might contain spoilers.

Currently fighting the Chromatic Hexga and even when i deplete all his shell, he is immune to any and all damage i dish out. I was hoping maybe it was his health bar that glitched out and just didn't show any depletion. Not sure if that's the case. Fights already went on long enough and im over it. It doesn't even show damage numbers no matter what the situation is

I shot them at some point. So maybe it was before they reached future phases and thats why i didnt anything? That was so demoralizing. If i seriously didnt even think to shoot at them later im gonna slap myself. ughhhh. ty for the help

I think the crystal changes colour a few times; when it makes it to red, the boss becomes untouchable. A few shots (3 perhaps?) will roll back the crystal to the previous colour.

I also thought I was doing something wrong. I took one shot at the crystal and since there was no feedback or prompt like during the first sakapatate fight that said something was being weakened, I figured nothing was happening and didn't want to waste anymore AP. So then I had to look it up cause I thought it was a invincibility bug.
