Inside the monolith, return to map

So I'm just past the train station inside the monolith at the moment and I would like to consolidate and finalise my builds but I also don't want to run the whole route back to this point. Is there a place to set up camp before the paintress or do I have to do the whole run back if I return now?

You can fast travel 'Inside the Monolith', to the latest Expedition Flag you've reached.

But you have to run across a single screen outside Monolith (where the giant Paintress is), though. There's no fast travel at that screen.
