Be careful not to brick your save!

So I lost a fight against a world boss. So naturally it booted me back out to my last save in the overworld. However for some reason I fell through the map and was stuck, couldn't find a way out. Went to camp and left...which you know triggers more saves. I was still stuck.

Luckily I had only been playing for a little bit this session, and Steam cloud has many backups available for download, so I only lost like 20 minutes of progress.

Be careful, I'd recommend ALT + F4ing if this happens to you and you can't get out, so as to not overwrite your saves.
