I can't beat this boss

I'm on ‘History’ difficulty and this boss always ends up killing me because of his manipulation spell.

In the game what I find most difficult are the parrys, i.e. blocking at the right moment, that's why I always end up getting his manipulation spell and my characters fall like flies.

Do you mean the prompt where it says Glissando enchants its target. The game gives you a hint to the parry timing. At 0:50 you hear the sound and see the spell happens in 3 bursts, you'll get hit on the 3rd burst but the first 2 will help you understand the timing to parry it.

I think there was an optional boss before this one, where if you defeated them they would drop an anti-charm picto.

you can have gradient that takes the debuff away if it is not on lune, or with v. you can burden yourself if another char has it, I guess

OK, well don't parry and just use the dodge instead, the timing is more forgiving.

btw something I use to know what kind of attack is coming before the boss even moves is to keep my eyes on the battle prompt where it says "Glissando enchants its target"
