Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Enemy names in-game
Is there a way to view the names of enemies/monsters that you've fought? Outside of Chromatic fights, or boss fights, I haven't been able to see the actual name of the enemy unless they initiate an attack. I assumed this would have been something related to free-aim, but even aiming at an enemy doesn't tell you the name.

Unless this is a later feature (I'm in Act 2, and I'm about to fight my first Axon), like for the journal or something. I haven't found any kind of "bestiary" in-game, and I've been wanting to avoid spoilers so looking that up has proven very difficult.

I second this, I find it baffling how newer games specially like Clair Obscur with a tons of enemy and unique skills and elements don't have bestiary.
do we need to memorize all the enemies weakness and resistance? also it's harder to complete Monoco's skill set because I don't know which enemy I'm missing.

I hope devs would listen to their fans request and suggestion to improve their game.

PS. also add autoplay dialogue
It would also be cool if the game added a bestiary to know vulnerabilities, HP, speed, drop, etc.
So, the most consistent way to see names is to wait for them to attack. But yes, it would be nice to see their name when you are selecting them for an attack.
I honestly think this would take away from the game's general feel of mystique, exploration and danger.

I can certainly see how that would be the case. But I would also say that a feature like this would serve well, if implemented in Act 3 as an addition to the journal/inventory screen.

It would be nice to have a bestiary, but I figure it's the same reason that we don't have a mini-map, or map of the area. For story continuity. No other expedition made it back to Lumiere with the knowledge they gained and our journey wasn't to fight monsters, but to stop the Paintress. It would take away from the year our characters have left, as well as deter their mission, if they recorded everything they fought.
