Anyone else constantly crashing?
I'm not hating, just trying to figure out what I can do. I've updated my drivers, I run the i9 12 series, have 32GB of 'base' VRAM, but I keep crashing randomly. I tried with the base game and even tried some of the fix mods on nexus and nothing is working. Is anyone having this issue and if you have and fixed it, how did you do it?

You need to reduce the clock of all the processor cores.

In my case, an R7 9800x3d, the magic number was to reduce it to 4,000 GHz.

I used the Ryzen Master app. In it, I looked for the cores section and reduced the clock. It should be possible to do it through the BIOS too, but I preferred to do it through the APP.

Every time you restart your PC, you will need to open Ryzen Master and select the profile with the lowest clock.

The exact clock may vary according to the processor. In the case of the R7 9800X3D, 4,000 GHz solves the problem.

If you have another processor, the ideal is to lower the clock to 4,200 and then by 200 in two hundred steps, until you find a number that solves the problem.

This solution seems to work for any UNREAL 5 game and eliminates the errors: out of memory, lowlevel error, fatal error. It definitely solves the crashes in Expedition 33 completely.

Zero crashes, whether opening the game, in cutscenes, or loading after dying.

On Reddit and the Steam community, I saw that the Lords of the Fallen dev reported this problem on Intel processors and recommended reducing the clock to 5,200 GHz as a solution.

However, it is clear that this problem also occurs on AMD processors with high clocks. It is no wonder that most of the victims of this problem are high-end PC owners.

With this solution, you will fix the crash problem without having to force the game to open in DirectX 11, which would make the graphics much worse.

Ain't used overlay in years

This happened to me as well, game was working perfect until the last update. I have an amd 7900TXT, so the nvidia rollback was not my issue. After hours of troubleshooting I found that my problem was the amd fps (frames) overlay. I disabled it and had no more freezes or crashes. I knew the steam overlay previously caused issues, so this was my next best guess. This may not solves everyone’s issues, but hopefully it could help someone.

Imma try that, I can play for a lot longer hours even, but will still get the occasional crash hope it works.
the game has only crashed once for me in 60 hours.

RTX 3080 12gb
Ryzen 5 5600x
32gb RAM

Seems to be crashing allot for intel machines.

Bump, crashing within 5 minutes of launch, sometimes crashing on launch. Played 10 hours with no issues.

Used overlay the entire time I’ve played, disabled and still crashing.

RTX 3080
I7-11700KF

Crashed on 576.02, updated to 576.28 with no change

Going to try on my laptop with older drivers, fingers crossed.

***IMPORTANT EDIT***

Laptop worked fine, but looked awful.

I was running 32gb ram, installed 2 more sticks (matching corsair vengeance) and did not crash at all. Played for about 2.5 hours with no issues.

I know it’s probably not that simple to fix for everyone, but hope it helps at least one person! This game is too good to crash constantly.

54 hours into the game, now in act 3. Game keeps crashing when loading my saved game...
Sad night for me:(
This has been the best game I've ever played in my life and I don't want to play anything else right now lol.

Been getting crashes after roughly 1-2 hours of play time. Typically has a pop-up window saying Fatal Error that I need to alt-tab to to close.

Intel i7-13700K (not overclocked)
64GB DDR5-6600
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 (24GB)
Running Windows 10

Playing through Xbox Gamepass -- not Steam.

When you load your save file you have an option to load on of 30 older auto-saves. One of them may work.

Forgot to update in here, but a few minutes after I posted that I got it to work.
I moved recently and set up my PC in a hurry using an HDMI cable rather than a display port. I changed to display port and the game started working fine again. I doubt that's what actually fixed it because that's a rather trivial issue, but the game's working great now...

Hey i had the same issue for a bit, here's how i fixed mine:

First in steam right click on COE33 and go to properties and under general type -d3d12 in the launch options.
Next go to https://www.nexusmods.com/clairobscurexpedition33/mods/24?tab=files and download the 0.0.9 hotfix, follow the instructions and extract it to the game files.

These are my settings for in game graphics that work best for me with a 3080 and i9 12k:
Scaling type: DLSS
Scaling Mode: DLAA
MAX FPS: 120
Turn off Motion blur, Film grain, Chromatic Aberration and Vignette
Anti-aliasing: Medium
Shaders: Medium
Global Illumination: High
Reflection: Epic
Post process: High
Texture: Epic
Visual Effects Medium
Foliage: High
Shading: High

It runs really well no crashes and no red screen or poly textures issues. I run this as some of those medium setting features really dont affect the visuals that much and it runs smoother.
I'm running NVIDIA GeForce 576.02. No crashes. Direct download: https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/drivers/results/244129/

This is what fixed it for me as well. I didn't notice he updated that mod. Thanks!

If you don't know what VRAM is and what it does then how would you understand anything about specs? I also said what my processor was, but if you would like the only thing left out of the specs it's a 3080 ti
How could you have possibly gotten 32GB VRAM out of a 3080 Ti? They only have 12GB as a 'base' model. If you meant RAM then sure, but if you meant what shows up in DXDIAG as "total memory" under the display section then it seems that you "don't know what VRAM is and what it does"

I just started the game and I'm getting a ton of crashes. I have an R7 7800X3D processor so I tried lowering the clock speed like you said, but it apparently won't let me. Do you know how I can do that, or any other setting I could try that would help? Core speed is at 4200 now I believe
