This is a phrase that pretty much captures the state of AAA gaming these days. There are too many people involved in one project, causing the people involved to obviously work on one vision, but with different individual visions and probably very few exchanges between different teams.
And in addition to that you also have Publishers like Ubisoft with it's Twitter-teams. I'm not talking about social media. I'm talking about teams that are just there to make sure games would not offend people from certain minorities. Only exception here seems to be Japan, I guess Ubisoft had no one check what might offend japanese people.
But in addition to the "too many cooks"-problem they have the problem with their fear of "offensive content". As a result they remove everything from a games vision that might offend the Twitter people, which causes them to release games with literally no essence at all.
You can tell the devs here went straigtht for their vision. The game has like all the trigger-topics. They just took their vision and went for it. That's how great games are made.
Great games are not made by throwing millions out of the window in order to hire more and more people to work on a project. Great games are made by simply following a vision, without compromises.
