About Sophie die.
Hi. My english not so good so possible i missunderstand something. In the prolouge Maelle said " Sophie turned 33 and look much younger then this age " But the problem is only the 34 years old dieing. So Sophie was at the same age as Gustav. Why she died then?
Or something wrong wiith the story telling.

No, I think here is a little missunderstanding, all 33 (and older) die. So Gustav + the rest of expedition is 32 (and in Maelle's case ven younger).

If I remember correctly they point at that Sophie is a year older than Gustav.

Ahhh oke. Sorry then is my bad. I thougth the 34 changed to 33 and the 34yo died. To me that was the logical. :)

No, 33 and older die. Gustave is younger than Sophie.

Are they twins, or they are only brother and sister in law?

they are clearly foster brothers, as the people disappear in the gommage or trough expeditions, there is clearly no shortage of orphans, and they probably grew up toghether in one of those, toghether with his apprentices.
also i think gustav is 2 years younger, being him like 31, because he would only die in the next gommage, that by assumption will happen when the paintress would paint 32 on the obelisk, thus the ones that have 1 year left to live can volunteer to participate in the expedition
