Also, why on earth are you trying to run this at 8k lol. The asset quality of models is barely 1440p and the mips on the textures are quarter res at epic settings lmao
Your memory is "exploding" because 8k is 4 times the pixels of 4k
8k: 33,177,600 px = 33.17 MP
4k: 8,294,400 px = 8.3 MP
33,177,600/8,294,400 = 4
I think you're misreading - 8K runs at 30 FPS with DLSS set to DLAA. Setting to quality, performance, ultra performance, etc which are all lower resolutions (performance is half, 4K) all push the game to 1 FPS and from using ~8GB RAM to 40GB+ RAM.
These should be reducing VRAM usage, but in Expedition 33 they double it and spill over into system RAM.
It's because DLAA is bugged in the game with that version. Swapping it and forcing a preset should solve it. I read it perfectly and gave an answer for it
Sure lol and while we're at it a GTX 1060 would run the game at 60 FPS.
Okay well dont mind me then, good luck
I was able to optimize settings and get to 45-50 FPS.
However it ended up being a driver bug. I had mid April drivers, it got fixed in the one released on the 30th. Didn't notice that go up.
Game runs 60 FPS now that I can set DLSS quality and render out somewhere in between 4K and 8K
