Where is the red forest?

Game said the moogle village was surrounded by red trees, can't find it.

You can't really get lost. Just explore the area and at some point the characters will say something like "this is a lot of red trees", and then you explore a bit more.

It said that I needed to look in the area with the red trees, I'm in the red woods. Everything hits too hard, this is a series difficulty bump. The game just doesn't explain itself very good.

Red woods is not what are you looking for, it's Ancient Sanctuary. It should also be pointed out on your map.

if you look at the map when on the world map, the quest destinations have red markers instead of white, including your current main story quest destination.
