[Guide] Save transfer from Steam to GamePass / Xbox
For make a migration from XBOX to Steam please follow this guide :

ENGLISH VERSION - Steam to Xbox (Game Pass) Save Transfer Guide

Make sure to follow all steps carefully to avoid cloud overwrite or corrupted saves.

  1. Create a new save on the Xbox version (start a new game and save once).
  2. Open the Xbox save folder:
    C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Packages\KeplerInteractive.Expedition33_ymj30pw7xe604\SystemAppData\wgs\
  3. Open the subfolders (random names like 0009..., etc).
  4. Find 2 files around 15 KB and 2 files around 57 KB.
    - 15 KB = SavesContainer.sav
    - 57 KB = EXPEDITION_0.sav
  5. Open your Steam save folder:
    C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Sandfall\Saved\SaveGames\7656xxxxxxxxxxxx
  6. Copy both SavesContainer.sav and EXPEDITION_0.sav.
  7. Rename each Steam file with the exact name of the Xbox files you found earlier (no extension!).
    Example (your names will be different):
    - 38C005B9FC6D49B4B7BA625E3E4AB871 = SavesContainer.sav
    - C87B436DDEE04F1DB59D2DED6D230AB0 = SavesContainer.sav
    - 1A92294BF2804FFCB91C32667C53A584 = EXPEDITION_0.sav
    - 32E2E033C4E746F492748424078ED57B = EXPEDITION_0.sav
  8. Replace the Xbox files with the renamed ones.
  9. Do not touch
    containers.index
    or
    container.X
  10. Keep the game open on the main menu while copying the files – this prevents Xbox from overwriting with the cloud save.
  11. Load your save. It might say "Chapter 1" but your progress will be there.
  12. Play a bit (move around or grab something) and save again before quitting.
  13. Your Steam save will now sync with Xbox Cloud.




Version Française - Transfert de sauvegarde de Steam vers Xbox (Game Pass)

Suivre chaque étape avec précision pour éviter que le cloud Xbox n'écrase votre sauvegarde ou qu'elle soit rejetée.

  1. Créer une nouvelle sauvegarde sur la version Xbox (lancer une nouvelle partie et sauvegarder).
  2. Ouvrir le dossier de sauvegarde Xbox :
    C:\Users\VotreNom\AppData\Local\Packages\KeplerInteractive.Expedition33_ymj30pw7xe604\SystemAppData\wgs\
  3. Ouvrir les sous-dossiers (noms aléatoires, du type 0009..., etc).
  4. Trouver 2 fichiers d’environ 15 Ko et 2 fichiers d’environ 57 Ko.
    - 15 Ko = SavesContainer.sav
    - 57 Ko = EXPEDITION_0.sav
  5. Ouvrir le dossier de sauvegarde Steam :
    C:\Users\VotreNom\AppData\Local\Sandfall\Saved\SaveGames\7656xxxxxxxxxxxx
  6. Copier les fichiers SavesContainer.sav et EXPEDITION_0.sav.
  7. Renommer chaque fichier Steam avec le nom exact des fichiers Xbox correspondants (sans extension !).
    Exemple (les noms seront différents chez vous) :
    - 38C005B9FC6D49B4B7BA625E3E4AB871 = SavesContainer.sav
    - C87B436DDEE04F1DB59D2DED6D230AB0 = SavesContainer.sav
    - 1A92294BF2804FFCB91C32667C53A584 = EXPEDITION_0.sav

  8. Remplacer les fichiers Xbox par ceux renommés.
  9. Ne pas toucher au fichier
    containers.index
    ni
    container.X
  10. Laisser le jeu ouvert sur le menu principal pendant la copie des fichiers — cela évite que le cloud Xbox remplace votre sauvegarde.
  11. Charger la sauvegarde. Même si "Chapitre 1" s’affiche, votre progression sera bien là.
  12. Jouer un peu (ramasser un objet ou se déplacer) puis sauvegarder avant de quitter.
  13. La sauvegarde Steam sera automatiquement synchronisée avec le cloud Xbox.

You need to download XGP xtractor to do this

It says the game data is corrupted when u try to load the save, any updates on this?

Thank you! This is the first guide that I found that actually worked.

You just have to follow the instructions carefully and replace each file that matches those file sizes with the ones described and rename them to the exact name that the xbox version of the file had prior to copying them over.

There are some files around 3kb as well, should i replace them too with SavesContainer.sav?
Im able to find the 2 files each and replace them but im still getting and error when loading the game

UPDATE: Just replace the files that op said to replace, if you get an error when loading the save after that, just exit the game and load it again, worked for me, thanks!!!
